A Prayer For Strength

Lord, I'm trying to understand.
But the day is getting dim and my vision
Of You is weakening because I can't find
The strength to go on anymore.

The things I have faced, the people I've hurt,
I can never take back,
But the future is all up to you, Lord,
Because now I know I can't go even one more
Day without you walking beside me.

I don't understand why I'm faced with tribulation,
And even though people scorn and don't understand,
I do know, Lord, that You know the true reason.
Please remind me of this in my darkest hour,
Oh Thou faithful one.

I've stumbled a many time,
But You've always lifted me up.
My faith has been shattered and shaken,
But You always mended it back together.

So Lord, in my weary time,
When I don't feel like holding on,
Hold me in Your hand,
And let me find peace and assurance
In knowing that You'll always be there.
